Some more projects...

I’m terrible at writing a blog…truly.  I am, however, determined to improve - that’s a start.  Let’s see, Hamlet just closed at Post5. It was one of the finest experiences of my life and certainly the best work I’ve ever personally done on Shakespeare; I will never forget it.  Looking ahead the next several months hold some exciting projects that I am overjoyed to have in the queue.  This summer (2014) I will be directing The Crucible for Anonymous Theatre - a very unique and exciting night of theatre in Portland, OR produced by Theatre Vertigo.  The play is cast and every actor rehearses individually with the director, never meeting their cast mates until the night of the show when actors arise from the audience and make their way to the stage for their first entrance.  It makes for an electric evening of highly unpredictable theatre.  This year the performance will be on August 18th, 2014 at Portland Center Stage.  Along with this, beginning August 10th, we go into rehearsals for Parade at Staged! I couldn’t be more excited to direct this powerful show for my home company.  We have a fantastic cast and a brilliant design team and everyone is anxious to begin rehearsals. We open at The Brunish Theatre at the Portland’5 center for the arts on September 20th, 2014. That’s not all. Coming up in early 2015 I will have the great thrill of directing Ruthless the Musical for Stumptown Stages. It’s hilarious.…I am beyond excited for the work coming down the pike and incredibly grateful.  I live by the motto “make the most of the opportunity in front of you” and that is what I strive to do with every project.   I give it everything I am capable of, every time, because no one is guaranteed another one…I am looking forward to these shows with intense anticipation.
